Montescudo - Montecolombo, Montefiore and Montegridolfo are three medieval villages situated in the Valconca, three jewels nestled in nature, they are one-of-a-kind and offer an unforgettable experience to visitors.

 

Montescudo - Montecolombo is the most antique village of the Valmarecchia. It was founded by the Romans in the first century BC and in the Middle Ages it became an important commercial and cultural centre. Today, Montescudo is a vibrant village, rich in history. The historical centre is characterised by a labyrinth of narrow streets and alleys. Among the most important monuments, we point out the Castle of Montescudo, the Church of San Giovanni Battista and the Town Hall.

Montefiore is another medieval village situated in a strategic hilltop position. It is surrounded by city walls and within it one finds numerous historical buildings, among which, the Castle of Montefiore Conca, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta. Montefiore Conca is also famous for its ceramics manufacture.

Montegridolfo is the smallest village of the three, but it is no less fascinating. It is perched on a hill that overlooks the valley below. The historic centre is characterised by a medieval atmosphere and within it one finds numerous historical buildings, among which, the Castle of Motegridolfo, the Church of San Rocco and Palazzo Viviani.
